Terms

Terms of use

Last updated Oct 22, 2026. By using Midsouth Waterfowl you agree to these terms. They’re short and written in plain English.

1. This is a guide, not legal advice

Our law pages, spot guides and articles summarize hunting rules in plain English and link to the official sources. They are not legal advice and don’t replace the official regulations. Rules change, sometimes mid-season, and agencies can close areas on short notice. The official text from the state agency, the refuge or the federal government always wins. You are responsible for knowing and following the law where you hunt.

2. Accuracy

We work hard to get every rule, date and fee right and show when we last checked it. Even so, we can’t promise the site is complete, current or error-free. If you find a mistake, please tell us.

3. Safety

Duck hunting involves cold water, boats, firearms and darkness. Tips on this site describe what has worked for us; they aren’t a safety course. Judge the conditions yourself, wear a life jacket in a boat, tell someone your plan, and turn around when it isn’t safe. River levels and forecasts on the site come from NOAA and USGS and can be late, wrong or missing.

4. Links to other sites

We link to agencies, refuges, data services and, in the future, retailers. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, products or policies. Some retailer links may be affiliate links; see our affiliate disclosure.

5. Content and reuse

The text, maps and design of this site belong to Midsouth Waterfowl. You’re welcome to link to any page and quote a short passage with a link back. Please don’t republish whole pages or scrape the site. Government data, the public-domain U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service photos, the Creative Commons photos and recordings in the duck ID guide (each credited with its license) and OpenStreetMap map data remain under their own terms (see photo credits).

6. What you send us

If you send a correction, tip or photo, you confirm you have the right to share it and let us use it to improve the site. We’ll ask before publishing anything with your name on it.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The site is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Midsouth Waterfowl isn’t liable for any loss, injury, citation or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its content.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the site means you accept it.
