Privacy policy

The short version: Midsouth Waterfowl doesn’t run ads, analytics scripts or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or share personal information. This page explains the few things that do touch your data, and what will change if we add affiliate links or an email list.
What our host sees
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver pages and block abuse. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie when it needs to screen out abusive traffic. We don’t receive or keep personal profiles from this.
Maps and live data
Map pages load map tiles from OpenStreetMap and weather and river layers from NOAA / National Weather Service servers. River readings on guide pages come through our own server from NOAA and the U.S. Geological Survey. Those outside services receive your IP address and the map area you view, under their own privacy policies.
Search
Site search runs in your browser against a small index file on our own server. What you type is not sent anywhere.
Affiliate links and cookies
The site has no affiliate links today. In the future, some gear articles may link to retailers through affiliate programs such as Impact, AvantLink or Amazon Associates. If you click one of those links, the retailer or the affiliate network may set a cookie or use a similar identifier in your browser so they can tell that the sale came from us. Those cookies are set by them, not by us, and are covered by their privacy policies. We never see your name, payment details or what else you buy; at most we see totals of clicks and sales. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, and the links still work. Pages with affiliate links will say so at the top. See the affiliate disclosure.
Email list (not active yet)
There is no email signup on the site today. If we start one (for example, draw-deadline alerts or a weekly migration report), it will work like this:
- We’ll only email you if you sign up yourself, and we’ll send what you signed up for.
- Emails will be sent through Resend, an email delivery service, from an address at news.midsouthwaterfowl.com. Resend will store your email address and basic delivery data (such as whether a message was delivered or opened) to send the messages for us.
- Every email will have a one-click unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you.
- We won’t sell, rent or share your address with anyone else, including advertisers or affiliate partners.
- You can ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to the contact address below.
This page will be updated before any signup goes live.
When you email us
If you write to [email protected] or another address at our domain, we use your message only to reply and to fix any correction you send. We don’t add you to any list.
Children
The site is meant for a general audience and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
